Neil Fennell, an engineer for an automotive company, and his wife Philippa, head of department at a college, moved from Stratford-upon-Avon to Salford Priors on the hunt for a more peaceful and relaxed way of life. It was the quality workmanship, idyllic location and Cala’s Part Exchange Service which led them to choose a home at Priors Crescent.
Neil said: “We were keen to move out of Stratford-upon-Avon as it has become quite a busy and built up town. We love the outdoors and spend a lot of our free time walking, running and cycling, so we felt it was the right time for us to move somewhere more rural, with the benefit of visiting Stratford whenever we wanted to.
“We looked at a number of villages around Stratford, keeping our eyes peeled for everything from small renovation projects to new build homes that we could put our own stamp on. As soon as we saw Priors Crescent we were impressed. Every small detail we look for in a home came as standard here, meaning we didn’t have to increase the specification to meet our requirements. We fell in love with the three-bedroom Hunsley housetype, which has stunningly-crafted architraves and skirting, as well as the open layout we desired - perfect for entertaining friends and family.”
The couple were looking for an easy and stress-free move after a previous purchase on their former home fell through. They were quick to make the most of Cala Homes’ up to 100% Part Exchange Service to facilitate their move.
Neil said: “We had originally sold our home in Stratford-upon-Avon last year, but on the day of exchange our buyers pulled out. We started our house hunt again, keen to move out of our old home which we had begun to fall out of love with. At Priors Crescent we were made aware of Cala’s Part Exchange service and were eager to make the most of the opportunity, to prevent the potential disappointment of another collapsed chain. The process was stress-free and we had the peace of mind all along that the sale would go through.
“As the middle of March approached and the prospect of a lockdown due to the coronavirus became very real, Cala were able to get us into our new home quickly and easily. The scheme worked perfectly for us and enabled us to be in our brand new home that we absolutely love. For us, a lot of what made the part exchange process so seamless is the superb Cala staff, who handle everything for you. They’re what makes it truly hassle-free.”
Neil and Philippa’s new home faces out onto a new seven acre village green, with open fields to the rear. The active couple have made the most of the rural location of Priors Crescent and have enjoyed getting to know their new village.
Neil adds: “As soon as we arrived in Salford Priors we knew it was exactly what we were looking for, with a couple of lovely quaint pubs and vast open spaces. We have been making the most of the stunning walking and cycling routes near our new home, and have met other village residents along the way, who have been very welcoming.
“We really don’t need to go far to enjoy the open spaces though, as there is plenty of it on the development itself. Every morning we have pheasants and deer right up against our garden fence and we often see groups of hares in the field too. It’s a stunning view and further cements how much we love our new rural lifestyle.”
Neil Simpson, Regional Director for Cala Homes Midlands, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to welcome our first residents to Priors Crescent and it’s wonderful to hear that Neil and Philippa have had such a positive experience. We are really proud of this development which has been sensitively designed in keeping with its rural village location, and we can’t wait to welcome even more residents to further build the community here.”
Located on the border of Worcestershire and Warwickshire, Priors Crescent provides the perfect location for those looking for contemporary living in rural surroundings. Homes are set in a sweeping crescent overlooking the new village green and selected properties benefit from a private gated enclave and views over open countryside.
The development benefits from easy access to surrounding towns, with the A46 located less than half a mile from the village leading to Stratford-upon-Avon, the M40 and the M5. Evesham train station is six miles away with trains to Worcester in 18 minutes and London Paddington in less than two hours.
The local area offers a high standard of education for all ages, including Salford Priors CofE Primary School, situated just across the road from Priors Crescent, Harvington CofE First & Nursery School, rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted, Bidford-on-Avon CofE Primary School and Alcester Academy Secondary School.
