Once complete, the wider development will deliver a vibrant and sustainable new community of homes, business space and community facilities.
Situated on former agricultural land to the north of the A264, Cala’s development will comprise a mix of 193 one and two bedroom apartments and two, three and four bedroom homes, including 25 affordable properties.
Cala Homes’ application forms part of phase 1A of this wider strategic site, with Legal and General Homes having also submitted an application for 197 properties.
North Horsham is a brand new community being delivered by master planners Legal & General Strategic Land. Outline permission was granted in 2018 for 2,750 new homes and a village centre with shops and community facilities. There will also be a new campus for Bohunt Horsham School, a sports hub, a business park, extensive green open space and pedestrian and cycle routes.
Ian Humble, Senior Planning Manager at Cala Homes South Home Counties, said: “We are delighted that Horsham District Council approved our reserved matters application for 193 homes at North Horsham, and to be the first new homes developer to be granted planning permission for this landmark site.
“We have worked closely and collaboratively with the master planners to create a high quality scheme that meets the needs and aspirations of future residents and the existing local community.
“Cala is a high quality homebuilder with a strong track of delivering quality developments in West Sussex, including our recent Arun Fields development in Horsham and Cresswell Park in Angmering, and we are delighted to now be leading the way in delivering an exciting new community at North Horsham.”
