The deal coincides with our region's office move from Farnham to Dorking Business Park, Surrey. The team’s relocation will ensure its closer proximity to its most rapidly expanding areas across Surrey, Sussex, Kent and the south London boroughs.
The land acquisition means our South Homes Counties team have this year contracted on more than 950 homes over five sites in the region, with other contracts currently in negotiation. The team continue to actively seek further immediate and strategic land opportunities to deliver much needed homes and community facilities.
The new site, located north of Lower Haysden Lane, Tonbridge, has full planning consent for the delivery of 125 new homes, 40 percent of which will be affordable. Set alongside attractive open space and new ecological areas, the scheme will enhance community connectivity – including new cycling and pedestrian links and improved public transport infrastructure. Additional benefits will support local education, social care, medical and community amenities as well as leisure facilities.
The relocation of its office from Farnham to Dorking supports our land strategy objectives and underscores its sustainability commitments. The team will be based closer to key locations, at the centre of its operations, which will reduce travel distance and time to its sites, helping to limit carbon footprint while increasing productivity. The new office provides more collaborative workspaces, and more space for our expanding team, plus electric vehicle charging points on site to cater for employees transitioning to EVs.
