Cala Homes (East) has unveiled its much anticipated, brand-new showhome within its stunning development at Edinburgh’s historic Royal Blind School.

Showcasing the best of local businesses within a contemporary new home style for the region, the three-bedroom Chaplin townhouse at the impressive Newington Residences is now available for potential homebuyers to visit by appointment.

Among its stylish décor – expertly designed by Eileen Kesson of Envision Interiors - visitors can uncover local gems throughout the property, thanks to Cala’s ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative.

The project sees a selection of showhome items sourced from businesses in the surrounding area, adding a personal touch from the local business community

Edinburgh Mercantile, Dicks and the Melrose Candle Co. are among the local businesses spotlighted within the stunning showhome, with each item carefully hand-picked to complement the stand-out features of the property.

The light-filled living area features calming neutral tones and stylish furnishings, with books provided by Golden Hare Books and ceramic teapots and cups from Edinburgh retailer Homer taking centre stage in the designer kitchen, providing a homely feel throughout the property.

Prospective buyers will even be able to cast an eye on local produce which is on offer in the region, with oatcakes, crackers and chutney from I.J Mellis,  fresh comb honey from Heather Hills Farm and coffee from Grow Urban all being showcased within the impressive show home.

Philip Hogg, Sales and Marketing Director Cala Homes (East), said: “As a business, we are passionate about building communities, not just homes, and ‘Showhome of Support’ is designed to help give a platform to some of the amazing independent retailers and local talent we have on our doorsteps.

“So many small businesses have been badly hit over the last few years, so we want to offer them an extra opportunity to reach new homebuyers moving to the area. By working in partnership with local businesses in the community, we will be bringing a real unique flavour of what a town, village or city has to offer.”

Boasting 1608 sq. ft. over three floors, the Chaplin home style located within the capital’s leafy south side conservation area offers a sense of privacy and seclusion which includes purchasers own private parking along with garden space, all while being perfectly positioned for work and play in the city.
