Having spent years in their family home in the close-knit village-like area of Danestone, the couple were keen to have a much more relaxed lifestyle without the upkeep of a house and a big garden.
James said: “We have always had a home with a garden, but we didn’t need all the space when it was just the two of us and we decided an apartment would be easier to look after while still giving us all the room we need.”
When James and Catherine came across Southbank by Cala nearby, they were intrigued to find out more about the apartments on offer.
James continued: “When we found out we were living only a five-minute drive away from the Southbank development, we decided to visit the sales office. “From first viewing the apartment to moving in was around five weeks, which seems quick, however the process was just so smooth and seamless there really wasn’t any unnecessary hanging around,” explains James.
The couple are now enjoying the benefits that come with downsizing and have since been able to decorate their new home and can now live their golden retirement years carefree.
James continues: “Not only did the proceeds from the house sale cover the cost of the apartment and more, with it being a brand-new property it is much more energy efficient, and we have the added bonus of no internal or external maintenance – everything is brand new and in perfect condition.”
