Then look no further than Craibstone Estate South, set amidst mature woodlands and plenty of green space, whilst also benefitting from superb connections to the city and beyond.
We partnered with Anna and Matthew of Aberdeenshire Walks to get their top tips on things to do in Aberdeen and how to enjoy a great day out in and around Craibstone, from woodland walks in Aberdeenshire to the ultimate spot for a spa day in Aberdeen.
Elrick Hill
If you enjoy walking whilst taking in stunning scenery, then Elrick Hill is a fantastic way to spend an hour or two. It’s a short walk, approximately 4.25km, combining a forest trail with views and open landscapes. You’ll enjoy views towards Deeside and you can reach Brimmond Hill on this path too if you’re looking for circular walks in Aberdeen or hikes.
Forest Farm Dairy
Everyone enjoys ice cream whatever the weather, so why not stop for a treat after your walk? Forest Farm is an award-winning, organic dairy in Aberdeenshire where you can visit the gelateria and choose your favourite flavour. The family business opened in 1998 as Scotland’s first organic dairy farm and has grown into a firm favourite with locals – this is not one to miss!
Dyce Riverside Walk
Despite it only being a few minutes from town, you’ll feel like you’re deep in the countryside when you’re walking along the River Don. If you enjoy spotting wildlife and you’re looking for a peaceful and fairly level route, then this is the walk for you. There are always plenty of animals to see, which will keep the children happy, and it’s also one of the most scenic dogs walks in Aberdeen.
P&J Live
Craibstone Estate is just moments away from P&J Live, which is ideal for those who love going to concerts and shows in Aberdeen. Part of The Event Complex Aberdeen (TECA), P&J Live is the North-East of Scotland’s state-of-the-art events venue and this year will welcome artists such as Deacon Blue, Busted and Madness, with plenty of family events also on the calendar, so if you’re looking for things to do in Aberdeen, this is the first place you should check out.
Devona Spa
After a fun-filled day, the perfect way to relax and rejuvenate is to enjoy a spa day at Devona Spa. Part of Hilton Aberdeen TECA, it features a 20km indoor pool, sauna, steam room, bespoke heated beds and a fitness centre, plus ishga spa treatments. From express facials and deep tissue massages to detox body wraps, there is something to suit everyone. It’s the ultimate treat.
With plenty on its doorstep, Craibstone Estate South offers a variety of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes and could be the answer if you’re thinking of making the move to Aberdeen.
