We’re putting a call out to local charities, community groups and businesses in the Hertfordshire area as we ramp up community engagement following work starting on at our new Sambrooke Park development where we’re set to launch homes for sale in Potters Bar.

Committed to making a meaningful impact, we have already committed to over £1,700,000 worth of funding for the Hertfordshire community, which will be spent through local authorities on healthcare support, education, social care and more.

We are now inviting the local community to provide input as we go above these commitments through our Community Pledge.

The Community Pledge is our UK-wide initiative designed to go above and beyond standard planning obligations. This Pledge will be tailored to the needs of the Potters Bar community, informed by input from our on-the-ground teams. Core activity within our Pledges include:

-        Showhome of Support: our showhomes will feature a minimum of 10 home-grown products from local businesses within the community, giving possible purchasers a glimpse of what the area has to offer to encourage customers to support local.

-        Land to Life: this is a is a curriculum-based schools project aimed at 7–11-year-olds, designed to encourage meaningful engagement between Cala and local schools in the communities in which we build. It focuses on education pupils on how new communities are created.

-        Stay Safe, Stay Away: this initiative offers primary schools an interactive session covering the history of building houses as well as the variety of fantastic and varied career opportunities within the industry, as well educating pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised.

-        Urban Wildlife Strategy: our Urban Wildlife Strategy outlines our plans to incorporate wildlife-supporting measures into every new home we build, helping to make our homes more hospitable for Britain’s wildlife.

The Sambrooke Park team is specifically looking for local charities in need of donations or volunteers, as well as community groups interested in sponsorship opportunities.

If you are part of a local charity, community group, or business and are interested in exploring partnership opportunities, please contact chilternpledge@cala.co.uk.

Stala Thomson, Sales and Marketing Director at Cala Chiltern, says: “At Cala, we strive to make a meaningful impact in the communities we build in.

“While we are proud of our ongoing contributions, we are always looking for new ways to support local charities, community groups, and businesses, particularly as we prepare to launch our Community Pledge in the area.”

The first homes at Sambrooke Park consist of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes in Potters Bar, bringing a total of 63 homes, 38 of which will be available for private sale and the remaining 25 being affordable housing properties.
