Abercrombie Park, Paisley

Formerly Thornly Park Village

Cala Homes (West) have successfully secured planning permission by planning appeal, as part of a Consortium of Developers with Barratt Homes and Bellway Homes for surplus land at Dykebar Hospital in Paisley.

Abercrombie Park will comprise 603 homes, 171 by Cala, and will deliver a high-quality residential development on the edge of Paisley, providing the local community with essential housing options for a variety of households. The types of homes available will range from one to five bedroom homes in apartments, townhouses, terraced, semi-detached and detached styles.

The unique feature of this development is that almost half (43%) of the site will be retained as open space and woodland with biodiversity enhancement at its heart.  The plans will also increase native tree planting and landscaping; create new play facilities; improve foot and cycle connections and the local road network; as well as making financial contributions towards local schools.

The site was allocated within the Renfrewshire Local Plan 2014 and the Renfrewshire Local Development Plan 2019 for residential development of 620 homes and the proposals were recommended for approval by Renfrewshire’s Planning Authority in 2021.

We expect to welcome our first homeowners in 2027.

Ongoing Updates

August 2025

From 14th August, tree removal works are set to commence within the site owned by the consortium in accordance with approved tree works consent 24/0851/TP. The tree works are being carried out in selected areas where permission has been granted and we have worked with accredited ecologists to ensure that all works are carried out in accordance with legislation.

The areas in which the tree works are being carried out will be fenced off for public safety.

April 2025

At the end of March 2025, Cala Homes (West) along with consortium partners Barratt Homes and Bellway Homes acquired the land at Dykebar Hospital.
