Our Charity Partners

We work closely with two charities, supporting work across the UK as well as providing support for our staff and subcontractors.

 

 

 

Samaritans

Cala has given over £806,000 to Samaritans through corporate donations and the fundraising efforts of our staff, suppliers and subcontractors since our partnership began in 2020. Cala's overall fundraising could enable Samaritans to fund over 80,000 potentially life-saving call for help. With our support, their volunteers can continue to be there for anyone who is struggling to cope, day and night. Samaritans has provided listening and emotional resilience training to help equip Cala’s 1,300 employees with the skills to take care of their own wellbeing, as well as being more aware of their co-workers’ mental wellbeing. 

Lighthouse

Cala are a proud Company Supporter for Lighthouse, an organisation dedicated to the emotional, physical and financial wellbeing of construction workers and their families. In our 150th anniversary year, £50,000 has been pledged to support the work of Lighthouse. As part of the partnership, our 250-strong site management team will receive bespoke mental health training. Additionally, all Cala employees and subcontractor colleagues will have access to Lighthouse's Wellbeing Academy for free mental health and wellbeing training. The charity will host #MakeitVisible site tours across several Cala construction sites, during which teams from Lighthouse deliver sessions and promote the invaluable support services they provide. Their trained Mental Health First Aiders with firsthand industry experience provide direct support to the workforce, fostering wellbeing and potentially saving lives.
