Our new Showhome of Support initiative will shine a spotlight on 10 local designs and products in our showhomes – from artwork and accessories, to furniture and fabrics – which will bring a real unique flavour of what a town, village or city has to offer.
We want to give local artists, creators and independent retailers a platform to show what they can do to the thousands of visitors we invite through our doors every year, and the homebuyers who will soon be moving into the neighbourhood.
All local businesses who feature will be signposted throughout the property. We’ll also help amplify their work on our website, on our social media channels and in our marketing.
What’s more, we’ll be building meaningful relationships with the communities we’re operating in and supporting local economies.
Our North of Scotland and North Home Counties teams are leading the way with Showhome of Supports open across Aberdeen and Hertfordshire.
The North team used press and social media to encourage local suppliers to apply to feature in the showhome at TwentyFour, Rosemount and have selected some fantastic businesses, including reed diffusers and candles from Our Lovely Goods, and cushions and wall hangings from Paper House Designs. The local suppliers were exhibited at TwentyFour, Rosemount's show apartment launch alongside some local food and drink suppliers, such as Gourmet Cheese Co., ByPlatter and local gin, Jindea.
In Hertfordshire, North Home Counties has incorporated the Showhome of Support initiative into their interior design briefs for their showhomes, with selections including handmade soap from Hitchin Lavender for Hurlocke Fields in Hitchin, and locally brewed beer from McMullens for Limsi Grove in Hertford.
Keep an eye out on our social channels (@calahomes) and our Showhome of Support page for the promotion of our new community initiative and make sure to show your support by sharing the news far and wide.
