Stay Safe, Stay Away offers primary schools an interactive session covering the history of building houses as well as the variety of fantastic and varied career opportunities within the industry, as well educating pupils about the dangers of going into construction areas unsupervised. On the 3rd July 2024 55 pupils from Alresford Primary School took part.
Land To Life is a curriculum-based schools project aimed at 7-11 year olds. The comprehensive suite of teachers’ notes and detailed lesson plans aims to educate children on how new communities are created, from land acquisition through to sales and marketing.
Protect and enhance existing and new wildlife habitats within the site, protect species including hedgehogs, birds, bats, reptiles, invertebrates as well as native flora, and green open spaces which includes an ecological protection area, a childrens’ play area and a pond.
We donated £1,000 towards Great Bentley Football Club under-twelves football kit. This donation has allowed the team to purchase smart new kits, complete with the Cala logo, helping the team look and feel professional in training and on match days.
The Great Bentley village show is an annual family fun day out which takes place on the large village Green in September. It features the companion dog show and many other attractions including Suffolk Punch draught horses, a tractor display, gin tasting and a full selection of refreshments. Visitors to the Green are entertained throughout the afternoon by “The Big Easy” jazz band and “The Harmonettes“. This year it was attended by 800 villagers and NHC made a donation of £500 towards the event.
In April 2023, we provided a donation of £750 towards the repair and structure of the church bells at St Mary the Virgin Church in Great Bentley.
We donated £1,500 towards the early years foundation stage playground improvements to help fund their mud kitchen, accessories and books.
