What is Cala’s Community Pledge?
To reflect our commitment to our communities over the lifecycle of our developments, we introduced our Community Pledge in 2023. Our Pledges bring together a host of bespoke measures for each local community including donations, support for local initiatives, volunteering drives and much more.
Highlights from 2023
Chiltern - Community Clean Up
Members from our Chiltern team helped the local community in Aylesbury by taking part in a community clean up. The team were supported by the local Parish by providing littler pickers, hoops and black sacks, and were also joined by the local Scouts group and residents from our Farendon Fields development, who all gave the team a helping hand.
Thames – Donations to Alton Foodbank
The Thames team donated over 400kg of food, toiletries and other household goods to Alton foodbank as part of Rivermead Garden’s, Alton Community Pledge.
East- Costorphine Volunteering Project
Cala volunteers helped provide vital support to more than 100 families experiencing difficulties in the west Edinburgh area last Christmas. Working with the Corstorphine Christmas Support Project, our team helped deliver essential items to people facing hardship including food, household items and festive gifts. East also covered the cost of hiring a van for two days, aiding volunteers to donate dozens of parcels to those in need in a short space of time.
West- Land to Life with Chryston PS
Suky Singh and Chloe Thomson attended Chryston Primary School bringing two sessions to Primary 3 classes. The pupils had lots of questions about careers at Cala as well as the nearby development, Earl’s Rise.
North- Stay Safe, Stay Away at Brimmond Primary School
Part of Craibstone’s Pledge, Cala North’s Environmental, Health & Safety Manager Sarah Liversidge spent a full day at the primary school presenting the interactive lesson to six classes, educating pupils about the dangers of playing in and around construction sites.
