Andrew and Lisa Noremberg, and their two daughters Katie and Florence, recently relocated to Ufford Chase in Great Bentley, leaving behind their bungalow in Walton-on-the-Naze.

Their move was driven by a desire for more space and a better work-life balance in a location that offered the charm of village life while being conveniently situated for their jobs.

Lisa and Andrew run a hearing aid business which provides audiology services across Essex and Suffolk. The central location of Great Bentley was a significant factor in their decision to move. Lisa said: "We’ve always loved Great Bentley; the village atmosphere is something we’ve wanted for some time now. It’s also perfect for our work as it's so central and the great transport links allow us easy access to all corners of the region for our client's home visits.” The couple were initially drawn to the Ufford Chase development when they spotted their new home listed on Rightmove. "The quality of Cala’s homes stood out immediately," Lisa explained. "We had looked at other properties and developments in Colchester, but nothing compared to what we found here at Cala at Ufford Chase."

The decision to move was also influenced by the family’s growing needs. With two daughters, aged 21 and 10, their previous home, a 54-year-old bungalow with just one bathroom, was no longer sufficient. Lisa said: "Having only one bathroom for four people became a challenge, especially with two growing girls. The five-bedroom detached home we found at Ufford Chase was exactly what we needed."

The Noremberg’s were also attracted by the vibrant community life in Great Bentley and have been enjoying the open spaces in Great Bentley, home to the second-largest village green in the country, at 43 acres. Lisa added: “Great Bentley has a beautiful village green, we love taking our daughters and dog, Redd, as there’s always something happening. We regularly spot the local fish and chip van, children playing cricket, neighbours enjoying a relaxing picnic and appearances from the ice cream van too. It’s a village that offers so much for families, and we couldn’t ask for more.”

The moving process was smooth, thanks to Cala’s Part Exchange service. Andrew said: "We had never heard of Part Exchange before, but when Heather from the Cala Homes sales team explained it to us, we knew it was the right choice." The service allowed the couple to avoid the stress of a property chain. Andrew continued: "Cala handled everything, and the process was seamless. We were able to focus on preparing for our new life in Great Bentley without the usual hassles of moving.”

Cala’s Part Exchange service is where Cala purchases a prospective buyer’s existing property to allow them to move chain-free into their new home.

This means buyers have a guaranteed cash buyer and their move is not at risk of the problems or delays that come with being part of a chain. Legal completion dates will also be the same and there is no need to pay agent fees, Home Report, or survey costs. Once a buyer’s new home is finished, all they have to do is move their furniture.

Since moving in, the family have been enjoying their new home, particularly the additional space and modern amenities. "The ensuite bathroom is a dream," Lisa said, “we’ve gone from a cramped bungalow to a home with plenty of space, beautiful bay windows, and so much natural light."

The Noremberg’s have also been impressed with the support they’ve received from Cala, Lisa said: "Heather and the sales team were fantastic throughout the entire process. From the moment we reserved our plot, everything went smoothly.

“Heather kindly gave us the keys before our move-in date so we could move all our belongings in gradually instead of on the same day, which was a massive help, especially as we had to also move all of our business equipment too.”

For Lisa and Andrew, the move to Ufford Chase in Great Bentley has provided the perfect blend of professional convenience, family-friendly amenities, and the serene village lifestyle they had been seeking. "It’s been an amazing experience, and we’re so happy with our decision to move here," Lisa concluded, "Great Bentley is truly a gem, and we’re thrilled to call it home."

Ufford Chase features an exclusive collection of three- and four-bedroom homes with prices ranging from £379,950 to £554,950.

The development is open daily from 10.30 am – 5 pm and is located on Cinderpath Way (off, Plough Rd), Great Bentley, CO7 8LG, with showhomes available to view now.
