When Alison and Eric Brown began looking for a new home, they discovered that our Jordanhill Park development had everything they needed - and more.

Living in a detached home in Bearsden, built in the 1970s, their wish list was a smaller property with less maintenance and access to the city centre and the west end of Glasgow, that’s when they began looking at houses for sale in Jordanhill.

However, upon visiting our flagship development in the heart of the west end, they discovered that a new build apartment was what fulfilled their wish list.

The couple chose a Garret style apartment, within the Honours collection, which they reserved off-plan. Alison said: “We identified our chosen plot in October, and at this stage, construction hadn’t even begun on our apartment block however the sales team were so helpful, and being able to pick our preferred plot from the model available at the sales office was fantastic.

“We were very specific about the plot we wanted; it was ground floor and in a terrific spot, we had no concerns buying off-plan as we had all the information and were kept up to date at every stage. The reservation process was so straightforward, and in particular the information gathering meeting was so helpful giving us all the details we needed. All in, it was 18 months from reservation, to moving into our home in May.”

It wasn’t just the fact it was a straightforward process that attracted the Brown family to buying one of our apartments, Alison continued: “We chose this development due to its superb location, and its natural beauty. It’s simply fabulous living in the beautiful parklands, and because we are on the  ground floor, we have a lovely garden space which complements the surrounding mature woodland, and we still have lovely views thanks to the position of the apartment block within the development.”

Their home in Bearsden was their family home so it will always be special to the couple however they were looking for somewhere with less rooms but light and open and still on the spacious side, which is exactly what the Garret apartment offered them.

“We love that our new home is open plan, making it great for entertaining guests, and the extra window in the living area means we have more natural light coming in too, which is fabulous.

“The fact that we have two additional bedrooms is also great, especially when friends and family are visiting. We were also pleased that due to the fact we reserved so early, we were able to choose our own kitchen and bathroom finishes, it’s certainly something I would recommend to other prospective buyers”, Alison said.

Energy efficiency is also something that was just as important to the couple: “When we began our search, energy efficiency was something we discussed. We knew that moving into a new build apartment from an older, larger family home that we’d see an improvement on energy efficiency. Even over the summer months, we knew that coming into autumn and winter the underfloor heating and insulation will continue to make our home very cosy.”

Jordanhill Park boasts a stunning collection of new homes - from 1, 2 & 3 bedroom contemporary and historic apartments, to one-of-a-kind duplexes, to stylish 4 & 5 bedroom townhouses. Visit our Jordanhill Park page to find out more about availability at this development.
